Chrome

This is a short poem I wrote from a word prompt from Poetry Thursday...

my
elongated face
distorted
in the chrome reflection
of the kitchen faucet--
dishes again,
like a million times before
I practice my religion
of housework
and unholy laundry
and again
the dishes
and my distorted face
in the chrome.

This is great. We've all seen ourselves super funny looking in a metal reflection (I look ridiculous in spoons) ~ it's cool that you chose to write about it because we, your audience, can immediately relate.

I especially like those lines. Just read your interview at Liz Elayne's. Lovely pieces here. And it made me smile when I read the part about listening to the blues.

  3. I think we've all been there, but haven't had your knack of putting those thoughts and visuals into poetry.
