A Special Valentine's Day Giveaway!

Well, I am keeping my graphic design (almost but not quite yet) degree warm with a little practice, but this didn't quite come out the way I wanted it to. Might look better in print...anyway, this is my Valentine to you!
Enter a line from your favorite love poem for a chance to win a 20.00 gift certificate for my Etsy Shop! I'm giving away two of them on Valentine's Day.

IN OTHER NEWS, I have opened a separate shop for my children's line. I a very excited about the things I have planned for this special venture. Making the sweet hairpin sets and necklaces just makes me smile huge, and melts my heART. Here is the banner and link (just click on the banner) for the new Etsy site if you'd like to visit:

SPECIAL THANKS to The Graphics Fairy for all of the wonderful free Valentine images and such!

  1. "you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens"

    from

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
    by E. E. Cummings

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
    (touching skilfully,mysteriously)her first rose

or if your wish be to close me, i and
my life will shut very beautifully ,suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
    the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility:whose texture
compels me with the color of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens;only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)

  2. I know you little, I love you lots,
my love for you could fill ten pots,
    fifteen buckets, sixteen cans,
    three teacups, and four dishpans.

    by Shel Silverstein

When my kids were small, we read Shel Silverstein's poems, and we often laughed so hard we cried. The above little ditty, while not profound, expresses love quite sweetly, don't you think? :)

    Valentine's Day Hugs & Kisses,
    Karen

  3. "i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)"

    from:

i carry your heart with me
    by e. e. cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
    i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

*** Jennifer ~ your new shop is so adorable! Happy Valentine's Day dear! ***

    XOXOXO
    Emily.

  4. I don't know that I have a favorite love poem. I have a ton of favorite movie lines though...so here's a little something from The Princess Bride: "Death cannot stop true love;
it can only delay it for a little while." ~Wesley

Happy Weekend my friend, I'm loving your sweet new shop!

  5. All the e.e.cummings fans! My favorite line is this:

"love's the i guess most only verb that lives"

Which is from a very short e.e. cummings poem.

Wishing you a beautiful and sweet Valentines day Jennifer!!! <3 <3 <3

Just had to enter this as I have SO many of your beautiful creations on my list...I find poetry in lyrics and all of my life(since birth!) my favorite line from a song has been "And when you stand before the candles on a cake, oh, let me be the one to hear the silent wish you make..." from my favorite old song~ What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?~

P.S. LOVE your new children's shop! You're KILLING ME!
