In Celebration, a Saturday Giveaway!

Autumn is finally showing its grace here in rural Michigan...it is my most favorite season of the year. I've been busy making lots of new things for the shop, that I'll be posting throughout the weekend and I am offering a 10% discount on everything in the shop until Monday evening at midnight. And To celebrate being published in Belle Armoire Jewelry and the coming of fall, I will be giving away a pair of these beauties:
(vintage rhinestone teardrops in an exquisite shade of Madeira Topaz)

I just love these earrings! The antiqued brass elements are so highly detailed, along with vintage rhinestones in a shade (Madeira Topaz) that you just don't see in modern jewelry.
No special hoops to jump through to win these! Just leave a little comment to be entered, but I'd love to hear your fondest memory of Autumn, whether it be jumping in huge piles of leaves as a child, collecting and pressing leaves, or drinking warm apple cider.....and might I share some of them in a later post?
Thank you for being here today.
Blessings,
Jennifer Valentine

  1. Hi Jennifer! For us, Autumn is when the wind stops blowing and we get clear skies and perfect sunny days. No leaves falling aorund here though - just glory every day! (actually - leaves usually fall during the winter as it's not as cold as yours...!) Hey everyone - do you know why this lady is such a talented artist? She makes her creations look as though that's the way they've always been - so natural and perfect. You really have a gift for making things take on a life of their own Jennifer! I think they are less 'assembled' and more 'birthed' Bless :)

  2. First-ohmgosh-these are gorgeous! Your gift never ceases to amaze me :) Second? Favorite fall memory-I would have to say apple picking and pumpkin carving day with the kids! Though they are grown now fall always holds the smell and sounds of that annual day for me-cider, apples, the farm stands and the kids deciding on the perfect face and 'punkin guts'. Makes me smile just to think of it!

Jennifer - WOW!!!! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful creations!!! God has definitely blessed you with such amazing talents!!! My fondest memory of autumn is just going for drives through the country to see the colors on the trees. I love when the trees enclose a road and all that is above you is beautiful colors! I love the smells that are associated with autumn. Can't wait to see all that autumn is.

  6. Hey lady you are making a huge dent in the art market. These earrings are absolutely gorgeous and your work is always so impeccable! I lived on a little lane that led back into the woods and we raked and raked and jumped in the piles. I rode horses through the rainbow of colors of the forest and took in the bouquet of the wonderful earthy smells of fall. Dried leaves, pumpkins, and the scent of apples cooking in the oven. OHHH fall is so romantic isn't it?

  8. There is nothing better than fall in Michigan the fall colors are amazing. My favorite is a trip to the Yates cider mill for cider and doughnuts and a bushel of apples to make homemade apple sauce.

Congratulations on being published in Belle Armoire Jewelry!

  9. blessed is the works of your hands always!!
autumn's fav memories brings up the season when my 6 daughters were all so young but such eager helpers, canning (200 qts. of applesauce!) in our yard, scooping up water from the creek to fill the large iron kettle, with the wood fire underneath heating the 19 jars of luscious fruit sauce. Such a sweet recall...thank you for asking Jennifer!!

  10. Mmmm, Autumn... I lose sight of the seasons here in the FL heat, but if I had to think about it... One of my fondest memories (October is Autumn, right?) was staying w/ my boyfriend's mom on a little house boat, and watching really scary movies late at night. Windows open, boat swaying, and scary boatyard noises! (AHHH!) I think the cooler air is my most favorite thing about Autumn!

Three cheers for Belle Armoire and YOU!

  11. Beautiful color on these earrings! I am from Arizona so Fall is a short season here, but I would say picking pumpkins at a local farm is one of my favorite fall memories. There was always a craft market there and I loved seeing all the handmade goodies! Have a great weekend, I love your designs!

  12. colors. colors. colors.. driving on the highway and seeing the sun shining on the beautiful trees and the colors just pop.

Sitting outside in front of the fire and eating s'mores and feeding the marshmallows to my sugar buzzed Siberian Husky dog!

Halloween is my favorite holiday, carving or painting the pumpkins that we picked from my father's garden. Making pumpkin pancakes. Making pumpkin dip.

I love the autumns at Penn State, all of the squirrels, rabbits, and etc... it's just like the movie Bambi. It's gorgeous.

  14. Hi Jennifer,
I have to tell you how much I enjoyed reading about you in Artful Blogging, then I just had to check out your blogsite, which I just did. Your jewelry is amazingly beautiful. I love heirloom jewelry and often include pieces in my crazy quilted items. The scent of fallen leaves on the ground always takes me back to my childhood in rural Michigan when the 6 of us siblings would rake leaves into lines that made up the rooms of our "homes" my brother's of course had to have "garages" for their bikes, but my sister and I made huge "master suites" and kitchens. Now that I'm all grown up I enjoy making pumpkin bread and biting into crisp apples and the gorgeous colors here in Leelanau County! Congrats on being featured in Belle Armoire Jewelry, can't wait to get the next issue! Take care!

  15. Hello! I live in a place where autumn is not so different to the other seasons, but still love it. I went to New Jersey for my first time in 1988 and a dream came true for me. I enjoyed all those beautiful colors of Autumn. I had to travel in a road full of trees and I felt so happy. I still remember those days. My work in ceramics, when I started, was inspired by Autumn, the colors, the tones, everything. Now I use more vibrant colors, but still the autumn colors are there. You can see that in a recent sculpture of a chair and a Tile Composition I posted in Flying Lessons Group.

Lovely Giveaway! Your designs are gorgeous!

  16. Beautiful earrings...how generous. Yes, Fall is wonderful here in NH...I always remember our first apple picking outing with my (now 18 yr old) son in the baby backpack. I can still see that tiny hand wrapped around a little apple :)

  20. hi,
in australia our autumn marks the end of hot balmy days and the beginning of a more gentle type of a day.
On the east coast where i live the seasons tend to mingle into each other. At first it isn't obvious then all of a sudden its time to wear a heavier cardi. I donot have one single fond memory of autumn but just a general feeling off change. The colours of the garden and the sky, different birds come and feed of our native bushes, the grass starts to turn a much lighter, almost dry shade of green. i did get married in an autumn month many many years ago. That memory is only just clinging to my conscious mind but i do recall that it was one of those days when it could have been a summers day or it could have been an autumn day. Whatever, it was a wonderful day. . . . . .

Those earings do look delicious. It is now spring over here, so if i were at all lucky enough to win them they would great with my spring outings.

My favorite fall memory has to be Halloween. I love everything about it...carving pumpkins, decorating, trick-or-treating. So much fun!

  23. These most beautiful earrings that you are showing are, indeed, PERFECT FOR FALL! My FAVORITE time of the year! Mississippi is SO HOT & HUMID in the summer...it just seems to go on forever, causing me to wilt...sapping all of my energy and strength away! And then! Just when I think summer will never end...that first magical, cool breeze disolves the thick, hot air of summer and catches the leaves all ablaze in trees, filling the landscape with colorful wonder! The most magical time of the year for me! The sounds of fallen leaves crunching underfoot and squirrels jumping from one branch to another...Oh, how I long to be one of those leaves on the trees...Golden...Dancing to the music of a breeze! O.K., I'll stuff a pumpkin in my mouth and end this! But, I LIVE FOR FALL!

  24. Jennifer,

Congratulations on being published in Belle Armoire Jewelry. Thank you for sharing the joy and moment with us. I love your designs.

Fall is also my favorite season. I love the crisp air, the breeze over the lake, and the feeling of renewal. These days I love taking a Saturday morning stroll at the farmers' market and buying fresh flowers, homemade cookies, and cherry-apple cider. -Mia

  26. Love your creations - found you reading Kelly Rae's book.

My autumn memory - driving home from a Pennsylvania trip in the fall - along the Delaware river - lush views of river and green and water and all the glorious colors of fall blazing cheerfully. The marvelous smell of slightly dying leaves. The crunch noise they make as you walk through them. Crisp, fresh air and open spaces.

  27. When I was a little girl, I loved going to the pumpkin patch with my mom. We spent forever and a day at the patch, searching, poking and prodding to find the perfect pumpkins. Then we would go home and carve elaborate beautiful designs on some, and leave some on our stoop for looks. My mom always let me pick out a few of the baby pumpkins for my room :) then she would take our seeds and cook them.. Mm they were so yummy! Of course here in Florida I don't see the change with the beautiful leaves but we used to go visit family in Maine and Vermont and I loved the beauty surrounding me. Since I'm an adult now, mom and I don't really go to the patch together anymore, but I do go now with your beautiful son <3 hope all is well!

    Love,
    Gwen
